Lost Dog 'Bowie'

From Owners: Missing since morning of Saturday, March 10 2007, at
a pet shop located near Chang De Lu & Nanjing Xi Lu (next to Hang Seng
Bank). We had left our puppy at the pet shop for his regular grooming
session and when we came back to pick him up, we were told by the shop owner
that he had disappeared mysteriously. (Full story below)

Lost Dog Bowie

Letter to SCAA: The story of how our puppy was lost: The Pet shop is actually located at the corner junction of Chang De Road & Nanjing Xi Lu (besides a DVD shop whom the owner also owns it) and it is also near the newly opened Hang Seng Bank.

We bought our puppy from the same shop and had been sending him there on a regular basis (twice a month) for his grooming session. What happened on that morning was that we had let him loose in the shop to play with another puppy (which he usually do before getting his shower), with the presence of the owner & groomer. We would normally leave him there and pick him up an hour later (which I think is a lesson for us to learn:  never leave your dogs without your presence).

So...when we came back to the shop, we were told by the owner that he's gone. The most frustrating part is that he don't even know when and how our puppy disappeared from the shop. We then confronted the groomer and she told us that she was supposed to shower our puppy first but was told by the owner to shower another dog of his first (and obviously she claims she did'nt know what happened). We were trying to figure out whether such local pet shop owners will resell the dog, etc...

Well, so far...what the owner of the pet shop had done was print about 300 copies of flyers (which he says, he will distribute them via all other pet shops and vets around the Jing Ann District area, had place two miserable small ads via the Sin Min Wen Bao, which we had to use a magniflying glass to search the ads). We personally had to sort all other avenues to locate our lost one, so we had place some ads ourselves via Cityweekend and Shanghai Expats classified, etc...

Till date, we have yet given up hopes and what we can do is only to pray for Bowie's safety and he had been pick up by someone who loves dogs and hopefully we'll be able to see him again.

We are very grateful that you have extended some assistance to us and we deeply appreciate all the help we can get.
