Dear SCAA:
My name is Lisa DosSantos. On behalf of myself and my club, the Save What’s Left Club, it was our honor to “trick or treat” for the animals of Asia.
After visiting your offices located in Shanghai and Hong Kong as a Fullbright, I chose my follow-up project to be a Paideia for China. What this means is that we learned about citizenship, cooperations, and mutual respect, shared a Socratic Seminar on a text by Confucius, and completed a follow-up project that included our entire school. The students went around to each homeroom of the school and collected donations of change for a period of two weeks. Our collections were superior.
The recipients included:
Animals Asia
SCAA
SCPA Hong Kong
WWF Hong Kong
And a portion donated to the Visakha SPCA India, and last but not least Animal Matters which educates the world’s children. Please accept this check (for US$ 150) and review the pictures. Each of the children decorated their own cans, and their own advertisement posters which hung throughout the school. These posters contained pictures of cats, dogs, Pandas and Moon Bears. Thank you for educating the children of America!
Respectfully submitted,
Lisa DosSantos
